Parmelina  tiliacea (Hoffm.) Hale
Status of species A rare species. Registered in the Red Data Books of Estonia and Sweden and in the Lists of endangered lichens species in Finland, Denmark, Germany and Poland.
Distribution Central part of Latvia and in the highland of Vidzeme.
Habitat An epiphytic lichen growing on deciduous trees in populated areas.
Occurance Singly specimens occur.
Reproduction By isidia.
Changes in number and distribution Found for the first time in Latvia in Incukalns (C. Lucas, 1862), in Sigulda and Nītaure (A. Bruttan, 1870), in Ļaudona (A. Piterāns, 1972) and in Vestiena (A. Piterāns, 1985).
Existing protection Decision Nr 107, 1987 by the Council of Ministers of the Latvian SSR. Lichen localities are known in Gauja National Park. Red Data Book of Latvia, 1985.
Suggestions for study Lichen biology and dynamics of population development should be studied. Its distribution should be defined.
