An epiphytic lichen growing on the smooth bark of deciduous trees in
well illuminated sites. |

Singly specimens occur on deciduous trees. |

| Changes in number and distribution |
Found for the first time in Latvia in Slītere in 1971 and in Dunika
in 1972 (A. Piterāns). It is negatively affected by changes in biotope
and environmental pollution. |
| Existing protection |
Localities are known in Slītere reserve and in botanic sanctuary -
Lukna hornbeam stand. Red Data Book of Latvia, 1992. |

Lichen biology and dynamics of population development should be studied.
Its distribution should be defined. |
