Pertusaria  hemisphaerica (Flōrke) Erichsen
Status of species A very rare species. Registered in the Red Data Book of Estonia and in the Lists of endangered lichens species in Germany, Austria and Poland.
Distribution Western part of Latvia.
Habitat An epiphytic lichen growing on the smooth bark of deciduous trees in well illuminated sites.
Occurance Singly specimens occur on deciduous trees.
Reproduction By soredia.
Changes in number and distribution Found for the first time in Latvia in Slītere in 1971 and in Dunika in 1972 (A. Piterāns). It is negatively affected by changes in biotope and environmental pollution.
Existing protection Localities are known in Slītere reserve and in botanic sanctuary - Lukna hornbeam stand. Red Data Book of Latvia, 1992.
Suggestions for study Lichen biology and dynamics of population development should be studied. Its distribution should be defined.
